Resistance Tests

Some effects (from attacks, abilities, and environmental hazards) may force characters and/or enemies to make a resistance test. A resistance test is a normal test based on one of the character's characteristics. Success or failure determines whether the effect will take place or how serious the effect will be.
There are three types of resistance tests:
:Willpower resistance tests must be made to resist mind control, fear, and other types of influences on a character's mind and emotions.
:Toughness resistance tests are made to resist poisons, stun grenades, and other effects that influence the body.
:And Agility resistance tests are made to avoid some type of hazard — for example, Agility resistance tests are commonly made to extinguish the burning effect on a character.
Some abilities, talents, or other effects can give bonuses to all or to some specific resistance tests, possibly triggering from resistance tests made by a character against enemy abilities or by an enemy against character abilities.
